About

Welcome to The Art of Samurai Swords. My name is Boris, and I started collecting Japanese swords and learning about samurai history after taking a trip to Japan in 2024. During my visit, I became fascinated by the craftsmanship, history, and cultural importance of samurai swords, armor, and traditional Japanese weapons. Seeing authentic swords, castles, shrines, and historical artifacts in person inspired me to begin researching and collecting antique Japanese blades.

Since then, I have developed a strong interest in nihonto (traditional Japanese swords), including katana, wakizashi, tanto, and samurai armor. I enjoy studying swordsmith signatures, blade styles, historical periods, and the unique details that make every sword different. Through this blog, I want to share my collection, research, and appreciation for Japanese history and craftsmanship with others who are interested in samurai culture and antique weapons.

This blog will feature information about Japanese swords, sword fittings, samurai armor, collecting tips, historical background, and photos of items from my collection. Whether you are new to Japanese swords or already a collector, I hope this site helps you learn more about the fascinating world of samurai history and traditional craftsmanship.
